David Lam Wins His First Start

         Traveling North to Stafford Connecticut the Backwoods Online Racing League enjoys a warm late November day. With the mercury topping 84 degrees, many teams struggled to get a hold of their setups.. This was not the problem for the #1 Chevy Monte SS of David Lam. Traveling all the way from the West Coast. This Backwoods driver born in Virginia knew just how to set the car up in the heat. David said " ah just another day at the office. All the tracks in Cali are H.O.T."

    On the backstretch of Stafford Motor Speedway John Battista pulls ahead of Skip Birdsey for the third spot. John finished 3rd to put him in the points lead. Todd Cousin driving the #5 in his first Pro-cup Late-Model Start finds himself in the 5th spot. As the laps started to burn off, crew chiefs were praying for a yellow. Larry Lugnutt crew chief of the 81 said "if we don't see the yellow flag tonight its going to hurt a lot of teams." All the drivers except one was screaming for tires by lap 40, but with no yellow flag flying the drivers had to adjust.

         Steve Keel running strong this week. Steve Missed last weeks race do to a blown Motor. Steve said "Last week we were not prepared and missed the race. This week we have enough parts to build three cars."

         Fans in turn three enjoy cooking while watching the race. David Butterworth closing in on Scott Negas said" Turn three should have a drive through, I dont know what they are cooking but I will take 2." The race continues under green with no yellow in sight. The drivers will have to focus on the track if they want to make it to Victory Lane.

         Todd Cousins finishes in the 5th Spot. In his first race getting a top 5 was huge for the whole 05 team. They missed the first week at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Todd is one of those drivers who will get into anything. Because of this he missed week one. Todd said" I had one of those opportunities to drive something special. I wasn't going to miss that for anything." He also added that "although it was just a 10 week season, he was not worried and thinks he can make up the points." Sitting in 7th with 17 points He has a long road ahead.

         Brandon Simmons in just his first start managed to hold on and finish 2nd. Brandon said "any time I get to run my Late-Model I know its going to be a good run. A member of many Leagues Including his own, this gritty veteran has logged countless laps. He added " Coming from the New England Area this is the race you want to win. But today we came up a little short.
